A winter walk in Bushy Park
February 9, 2008 11:35 amI’ve just returned home from spending a week in London. I stayed with my parents who live near Hampton Court Palace and a wonderful royal park, Bushy Park; home to many deer, wildlife and people enjoying a day out. I went for a great walk with my parents, a beautiful, crisp morning and want to share some of the pictures I took with you.
If anyone can identify the trees in this picture, please let me know. Every time I walk past them, I remark how different they are and I have no idea what they are.

Hey, Kevie, gorgeous photos!! I particularly like the mallard and mature stag. As to the trees — it is hard to tell without seeing the shape of the leaves. From this distance, they almost look like cottonwoods, but hard to say for sure.
Having spring like weather here for a few days. It is so wonderful, after the heavy storms of January.
Kevin, I think the trees are Caucasian Elms (Zelkova carpnifolia) They can also be seen in the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
Is there a prize for identifying them?
